Welcome to AJO Law - a practice devoted to conviction and sentence appeals.
AJO is run by Amy Ohler, a criminal lawyer who was called to the bar of Ontario, following dual articles of clerkship, first at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, followed by the Superior Court of Justice, Central West Region. She is a proud graduate of the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. There, she received two Board of Governors medals for outstanding academic achievement.
After articles, Amy attended the University of Cambridge where she graduated with a Master of Law (Right Honourable Paul Martin Sr. Scholarship; Pegasus Scholar, Inner Temple, London).
Prior to striking out on her own, Amy practiced criminal law with exceptional lawyers and legal professionals in Toronto. Before she went to law school, Amy was a philosopher, studying informal logic and argumentation theory at the University of Windsor (Hon. B.A.) and McMaster University (M.A.)
Amy has taught criminal law students at the University of Windsor and Queen's University where she received the Stanley M. Corbett Award for Teaching Excellence.
Amy is an active member of the Pro Bono Inmate Appeal Program, assisting unrepresented appellants before the Court of Appeal for Ontario and is a member of the Criminal Lawyers Association and Toronto Lawyers Association.
